About Us

Our Mission
The Legal Aid Society of Lubbock works to afford low income clients of the South Plains with first-rate legal assistance, advocacy, and quality counsel in matters of family and elder law at free and/or reduced cost.

Our History

The Legal Aid Society of Lubbock, Inc. began as a pro bono project of the Lubbock County Bar Association in order to address a recognized gap in legal services to low-income residents of Lubbock County.  We were incorporated in 1974 and granted non-profit 501 (c)3 status that same year.

Since that time, Legal Aid Society has expanded to provide services to low income clients in Bailey, Cochran, Crosby, Dawson, Floyd, Gaines, Garza, Hale, Hockley, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, Terry, and Yoakum counties.
