The Legal Aid Society of Lubbock, Inc. began as a pro bono project of the Lubbock County Bar Association in order to address a recognized gap in legal services to low-income residents of Lubbock County. Legal Aid was incorporated in 1974 and granted nonprofit 501(c)3 status that same year.

The Legal Aid Society works to afford low income clients in Bailey, Cochran, Crosby, Floyd, Garza, Hale, Hockley, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, Terry, and Yoakum counties with first-rate legal assistance, advocacy, and quality counsel in matters of family and elder law.

The Legal Aid Society provides free and/or reduced cost legal services in the areas of family and elder law.

All potential clients must complete an application and demonstrate financial need in order to qualify for services.
